"Klansville USA" examines the role of the Klu Klux Klan (KKK) throughout the Civil Rights Movement. This film also focused on Grand-Dragon Bob Jones and his role in making North Carolina the state with the most amount of Klan members. As the Civil Rights Movement became stronger, the KKK reemerged.

The future of the Klan was at stake when Bob Jones was facing a possible prison sentence. He was a high school drop out who enlisted in the military. He was discharged when he stubbornly refused to salute an African American officer. Bob Jones would never say he was a racist, and did not have a problem with black people unless they tried to mingle with whites. Despite him not being outwardly racist, Bob Jones is one of the most well-known Klan leaders who grew the North Carolina Klan to 10,000+ members, where it earned its new name - Klansville USA. The Klan is now known for their extreme violence to African Americans, however they originally acted as a group who wanted to voice their opinions about integration. They felt as though their way of life was under attack. Although people see the Klan as savage people who promote the hatred of blacks, when Jones was the Grand Dragon, it was not all about violence.

This film was an eye-opener because it showed that these things still happen today. It's strange to think that people still do not see blacks and whites as equals, and that the Klan still has active members. Learning about the KKK's recent actions seems unreal since this country has seemingly come so far from the Civil Rights Movement.
